On November 27 and 28, 2024, Kanematsu Vietnam Company held an exhibition and performance test of a wooden glamping facility at TOKYU Garden City in Binh Duong City, 30km north from the center of Ho Chi Minh City.
As the part of our activities of promoting Japanese wood products in Vietnam, this project was implemented in collaboration with Innosho Forestry Co., Ltd. and Kanematsu Sustech Corporation, our group company, with the support of the subsidized project of the Japan Wood Products Export Association, under the Forestry Agency in Japan. With the cooperation of BECAMEX TOKYU, which is developing urban development in Binh Duong New City, this event was realized.
The Kanematsu Group has set GX (Green Transformation) initiatives as a priority measure in its medium-term management plan "Integration 1.0," and is promoting GX initiatives in cooperation with Kanematsu Sustech, which is involved in many GX-related businesses. Kanematsu Sustech has patents related to wood preservation and treatment technology, and has track records in Japan. Their technology is used for the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo, too. The wooden glamping facility exhibited this time also used wood material that has undergone the company's anti-termite and anti-corrosion treatment. On the day of the exhibition, many visitors visited this exhibition and participated in the assembly experience of wooden buildings, and experienced the wood materials/wooden buildings of Japan.
In addition, as part of this subsidy project, we also conducted a performance test of wood material that has been subjected to Kanematsu Sustech's conservation treatment technology. The purpose of this study is to verify the deterioration and weather resistance of wood in Vietnam's hot and humid environment in order to promote the spread of wood materials for buildings in Vietnam in the future.
Kanematsu Vietnam will continue to collaborate with business partners inside and outside the Group to promote the use of Japan wood products in Vietnam.
